FFCF New Crew Member Shout Out!! We would like to welcome Don Holley to the FFCF family!! Don may be new to FFCF, but he is not new to CrossFit.

“The first time I walked into a CrossFit gym was March, 2012. A group of about 10 people that I worked with decided to all go over to the CrossFit facility near our office and find out more about high-intensity circuit training. We all took the Elements class that March and I have been hooked ever since. I retired at the end of 2018 and Susan, my wife of 40 years, and I decided to move from Austin back closer to family and friends in Houston, where we both grew up. We both love the beach, paddling, and surfing and decided that Galveston was the place we wanted to live. We sold our house in Austin and moved to Galveston in March 2019. I started looking at gyms in Galveston and several friends recommended that I try out Flying Fortress CrossFit. It had been at least six weeks since my last CrossFit workout and I remember how sore I was that week, but as all Crossfitter’s know, it was a really good ‘sore’ and I was hooked again and joined FFCF at the end of that week.

I’m very blessed to have great coaches and an enthusiastic group of members in the 6:00AM class to workout with and cheer you on even when youʼre struggling to get that last set or last rep. I owe so much to everyone who has come along my CrossFit path because without this community I wouldn’t be the person I am today… strong, healthy and happy at 69 years of age.” -Don-
