Meet Flying Fortress CrossFit: Daniela Galindo

“My name is Daniela Galindo, and I am currently enrolled in online courses to pursue my associates degree in Science. I am a full time pharmacy technician at Shriners and I have been married for 5 years and have a 7 year old daughter named Alexis.

I actually heard about Crossfit from one of my coworkers who has been doing it for years! She kept mentioning how Crossfit has a different workout everyday and taught her how to push outside her comfort zone. One day she brought me to one of the free community workouts her Crossfit gym was hosting, and the rest was history! My favorite thing about Crossfit is the atmosphere. I love how encouraging and welcoming everyone is and how the coaches and people are willing to push you outside your comfort zone. I never would’ve imagined that I could run a 10k in my life! And now I have thanks to Crossfit.

My favorite workout movement is Thrusters. I like Thrusters because two workout movements are implemented into one, a squat and a push press which are two of my favorites.

My advice for someone who is considering doing Crossfit is to go ahead and give it a try. Many people may say that Crossfit is bad for you because of the high intensity of the workouts, but what isn’t? The community and the atmosphere is so amazing you won’t even feel like you’re even working out!”
